Three delicious lemonade recipes to avoid icy cola or Sprite this summer. Easy to make, absolutely tasty, and 100% healthy.
Classic Simple Lemonade
- 5 lemons
- 2 liters of water
- 10 tbsp. sugar (or more, adjust sweetness to taste)
Make lemon juice. Extract the juice using a citrus juicer or manually: roll the lemons on the table while pressing them, cut them in half, and squeeze out the juice with your hand (in this case, use one extra lemon).
Pour water into a saucepan and place it over medium heat. Add the sugar (use white, brown, or alternative sweeteners like maple syrup or agave syrup). Stir until the sugar dissolves. Taste and adjust sweetness. Bring the mixture to just below boiling and remove from heat. Let it cool slightly.
Pour the lemon juice into a pitcher, followed by the sugar syrup. Mix well. For a burst of citrus aroma, add the zest of half a lemon, grapefruit, mandarin, or lime while the lemonade is still warm, or chop a sprig of mint finely and mix it in.
Ginger lemonade
- 4 lemons
- 4–5 cm piece of ginger root
- 110 tbsp. sugar (adjust sweetness to taste)
- 2 liters of water
Heat 250 ml (1 cup) of water. Dissolve the sugar in it and add peeled and grated ginger. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and let it steep for 15 minutes to infuse the ginger flavor. Add the remaining water and fresh juice from 4 lemons to the slightly cooled mixture. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. For an extra touch, stir in a couple of teaspoons of honey.
Watermelon lemonade
- 4 cups watermelon flesh (seeded)
- 2 limes
- 2 tsp. honey
Combine the watermelon, honey, and lime juice in a blender. Blend until smooth. That’s it — ready to serve:)
