Ginger has antibacterial properties, helps detoxify the body, and improves digestion - supporting faster calorie burning. Traditionally, it’s one of the most effective natural remedies for colds during the winter. Here are two tea variations: a light citrus version and a warming spiced one with milk and cardamom.
Version 1: Ginger Tea with Orange
- 1–2 cm fresh ginger root
- 50 ml fresh orange juice (or a slice of orange or lemon)
- 1 tsp sugar
Peel and finely chop the ginger. Pour boiling water over it and let it steep for a few minutes. Alternatively, boil it for 5 minutes -it will lose some spiciness but retain its benefits. After 3–4 minutes, add orange juice and sugar to taste.
Version 2: Ginger Milk Tea with Cardamom
- 2 cm fresh ginger root
- 4 green cardamom pods
- 1/2 stick cinnamon
- 100 ml milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup milk
Bring the water and milk to a boil. Reduce the heat and add the chopped ginger, cinnamon stick, and slightly crushed cardamom pods. Turn off the heat and let it steep for 5–6 minutes. Optionally, add a bit of black tea for a richer flavor.
