In contrast to “our” previous waffle recipe, this one is super simple: just mix all the ingredients and fry. The waffles are less sweet (compared to our previous proportions, and that's a good thing), soft on the inside, and crispy on the outside. There’s no noticeable beer flavor (though perhaps because I used a very light beer, like Corona (company history via the link) or Miller — I can’t remember now). Pro tip: make a double portion right away! These waffles are incredibly tasty and pair perfectly with maple syrup.
- 250 g flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- 4 eggs
- 4 g dry yeast
- 150 ml of milk
- 150 ml of beer
- 60 g of sugar
- 75 g unsalted butter
Dissolve the yeast in warm milk, then mix all the ingredients in a large bowl. Let the batter rest for at least an hour at room temperature. A very complicated recipe, right :)?
Bake in a waffle iron for 5 minutes (or 6 minutes if you prefer them more golden and crispy). Serve with honey, syrup, ice cream, or berry jams.
