This year has turned out to be an apple-filled one. Here’s a selection of five seasonal recipes to make the most of the harvest.
1. Apple Charlotte
Nothing is simpler: a cup of flour, a cup of sugar, 3 eggs, and 3–4 apples. Just 35 minutes of baking, and you’ll have the divine aroma of apple cake filling your kitchen — the best breakfast ever.

2. Chutney
Like with peppers and tomatoes, apple chutney is one of the most autumnal recipes. Sterilize a few jars and make it — you’ll have a spiced condiment all season long to serve with meat, cheese toast, bruschetta, or simply as a snack.

3. Duck — Farmed or Wild
Duck and apples are best friends. Roast the whole bird stuffed with potatoes and apples. As for the crust, take your pick: herb-spiced, honey-glazed, or chili-hot.

4. Risotto
Apples and gorgonzola make a perfect match. You can skip the goat cheese and marjoram — the simplified version is just basic risotto, apples, gorgonzola, a touch of mint, and walnuts. Truly delightful!

5. Apple Chips
A win-win: tasty, light, and healthy. Slice apples into 2 mm thin rounds. Preheat the oven to 200 °C (390 °F). Line a tray with parchment brushed with butter, arrange apples in a single layer (optionally sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon), and bake for about 2 hours (sometimes longer). Don’t wait for a golden color — they just need to dry well. Cool completely and store in plastic containers (unless you eat them all at once).
